Scott's One-Bowl Blondies
Anyone have a "non-chocolate-lover" in your household?
I am sucker for ANYTHING chocolate! A piece of dark chocolate, chocolate cake, brownies, you name it.
Scott on the other hand, doesn't love chocolate.
One day recently we had a hankering for a little something sweet to end the day. Brownies is often a go-to around here because we've got a fail safe one-bowl recipe that's easy to make. Low and behold, we had NO COCOA in the house!
So we got creative and crafted up a "blondies" recipe. One of my unwritten rules about baking ... one-bowl is better than two! These blondies meet that criteria and can easily be mixed up all in one bowl.
Remember that "non-chocolate-lover" in our household? Scott loves these blondies! In his opinion, there like a chocolate chop cookie version of a brownie and oh-so-yummy!
Enjoy!
Scott's One-Bowl Blondies Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F. Grease a 9x13 baking dish with butter or lard.
Cream butter & sugars in a large bowl. Add eggs and vanilla and mix in. Blend in flour & baking powder until flour all mixed in. Fold chocolate chips into the blondies.
Spoon batter into pan a scoop at a time. Using a spoon, spread blondie mixture evenly in the pan.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. You will want the blondie to still be a little moist in the middle to keep it chewy and moist once it cools.
Let cool (a little bit at least) before slicing.
