How does it work to buy a half or whole pig?
You can place your deposit for a half or whole pork from Lazuli Farms!
Once your deposit is placed, Lazuli Farms will contact you with details about an upcoming butcher date for your half or whole pig. Together, we can find a time that will work well for you!

How will my pork be butchered for me?
Lazuli Farms will take your pig to Forestburg Meats to be processed into your final pork packages to fill your freezer! Once your pig is at the butcher, it takes about 2 to 3 weeks for the butcher you cut, wrap, and turn your meat into the final products for your plate. Curing, smoking, and sausage making is a craft that takes a bit of time. But, be patient, it's worth it!
Your pork will be flash frozen at the butcher and ready to head into your freezer.

How much pork will I get?
Whole pork:
- approx. 100 to 130 lbs in your freezer
- This will take up approximately 5 to 7 cubic feet of freezer space
Half pork:
- approximately 50 to 65 lbs of pork in your freezer
- this will take up approximately 2.4 to 3.5 cubic feet of freezer space

How much will my half or whole pork cost?
- shoulder roasts (2.5 to 3.5 lbs per roast x 10 to 15 lbs total)
- side ribs x 2 racks
- bone-in pork chops with 2 per package (approximately 50 thick-cut chops) - boneless chops or loin roasts can be requested alternately at no extra cost
- pork leg roasts (2.5 to 3.5 lbs each x 15 to 20 lbs total) - ground pork can be requested alternately at no extra cost
- ground pork 1 pound packages (20 to 40 lbs)
- pork belly (3 to 5 lb slabs x 14 to 18 lbs total)
- pork hocks x 4
- pork soup bones (2 to 5 lbs)
- pork fat (3 to 5 lbs) - ready to be rendered into lard for baking, frying, cooking
A half pork Basic Package would include 1/2 of the cuts listed above.

You can alternately pick up directly from the butcher at no cost (Forestburg Meats in Forestburg, Alberta).
We are no longer offering shipping direct to your door due to the cost and environmental implications.
