Best Fall Essential Oil Diffusor Blends

As we race quickly into fall here in Alberta with the days getting visibly shorter and the mornings crisp, I can't help but feel the pull of fall.  For me it means preserving the last of the garden, prepping the yard & farm for the coming winter cold, and loading up the diffusor with fall scents!

A number of years ago, we used to buy those little cubes of scented wax to put in those pretty ceramic plug in heaters.  I loved these things until I discovered all the chemicals that are put into them to provide the scents!  "Fragrance" in most things (candles, wax melts, dryer sheets, etc.) could be any number of the over 3000 chemicals that are used to create fragrance.  In addition, these little cubes are made with paraffin wax which is a derivative of petroleum.  I don't love the idea of having these things in my home.

I was thankful to discover essential oil diffusors.  Fill your diffusor with water and high quality essential oils and turn it on.  The diffusor uses ultrasonic waves to create a mist of water & essential oil that disperses into the room.  Voila!  You get scent diffused throughout your room and can avoid those chemical fragrances found in wax melts & candles.

Essential oils are highly concentrated extracts from the leaves, flowers, and stems of plants.  It's important to note that essential oils can still have an effect on our bodies.  Essential oils can be absorbed into our bodies upon contact and through inhalation. Using a diffusor in your home should be done in a well ventilated area and for short periods of time (don't run your diffusor all day long!).  Choose an essential oil brand that makes high quality products to ensure that the oil is pure.

Back to our talk about fall!  We love to fill our diffusor with blends of essential oils and here are some of our favorite blends:

Fresh Start

• 2 drops grapefruit
• 2 drops lime
• 2 drops eucalyptus

Spicy Cuppa

• 2 drops orange
• 2 drops cinnamon
• 1 drop eucalyptus
• 1 drop clove
• 1 drop rosemary

Summer's End

• 4 drops ylang ylang
• 2 drops cinnamon
• 2 drops rosemary

Autumn Breeze

• 3 drops lavender
• 2 drops frankincense
• 1 drop clove

Give Thanks

• 2 drops orange
• 2 drops clove
• 1 drop cinnamon
