Prairie Shepherdess breeds & raises Navajo Churro, and Icelandic sheep for meat & fibre.
The lambs are born and raised outdoors, rotationally grazed during the summer months; fed good quality hay during the early fall, and then they give their ultimate sacrifice to feed a family in the late fall.
The skins get saved and tanned, as well as the skull for the brain tanning.
By purchasing a skin, you are honouring the life of this lamb. You can drape it over your bed or chair, it can be used as a rug, or even for the looks!
I am now taking deposits for sheepskins. $50 will put your name on the list, and I will go through the list to determine who gets the next skin.
These skins are a mixture of Navajo Churro, Navajo Churro x Icelandic, and Icelandic. They are usually between 3-5ft long, and 2-4ft wide. Pricing is $400 per skin.
